What about grandsons?

I WRITE as chairman of governors of Dover Grammar School for Boys.
I do not wish to get into an argument with Mrs Sencicle (Dover Express, March 29) and no doubt your readers will treat her latest letter with the 'respect her letters are usually granted.'
However, I cannot allow her criticism of the school and its head to go unanswered. In spite of what she says, we do of course, have a headteacher. Governors, parents and staff have the greatest respect and confidence in Neil Slater who is leading the school with great ability through this difficult period of uncertainty
The sooner the uncertainty is resolved through the merger of the two schools the better it will be for all concerned, including any grandsons Mrs Sencicle may be blessed with - a possibility she seems to have overlooked.
