The students and teachers from Calais on the steps of the White Cliffs Experience |
"C'EST si bon'" That was
the verdict of a group of Calais schoolchildren who visited the White Cliffs
Experience during a two-day visit to Dover.
The students were accompanied by three teachers, Catherine
Macquet, M Dussautoir and M Leclerc, from the College St Pierre.
They were taking part in the latest exchange visit with the
Dover Boys' Grammar School, whose second year pupils make regular visits to the
French school.
The visitors had lunch at the boys' school before joining in
the classwork with their English hosts.
They drew portraits, created computer graphics, composed and
performed radiophonic music and fashioned metal and plastic into individualised
key fobs.
"These exchanges are highly successful," said grammar school
head Neil Slater.
"We have even more ambitious proposals for next year when we
intend to extend our French connection by promoting geographical project work in
the Pas de Calais alongside the language study."
