Schools' go-ahead
TWO Dover secondary schools have been given the go-ahead to he upgraded to cater for more sixth form students by offering more A level courses.
Kent Education Committee says Astor and Archers Court schools, currently classed as 'high ability' schools for pupils aged 11-16, can become 'wide ability' schools for pupils aged 11-18, subject to public consultation. It is hoped they can both become 'wide ability' schools from September 1996.
Such schools cater for pupils of all abilities, Including those selected for grammar.
