STEPPING OUT: Pupils receiving instruction from the Zulu dancers |
Around 150 boys from years nine and 10 enjoyed the performances which helped with key stage three and GCSE course work.
Last Wednesday, there. was music and colour in the school hall when Zulu Dancers from Universal Creative Arts, based in Durban, led a workshop and then gave a performance. Forty boys took part in the workshop, learning a dance within 20 minutes.
Then 450 boys watched as the eight performers, five men and three women, presented a piece lasting just under an hour that incorporated stories, traditions, folk tales and customs of the Zulu nation, with drumming, dancing, singing, mime, masks and colourful costumes.
