Crash victims inquests opened and adjourned
INQUESTS have been opened and adjourned on the three victims of the crash on Whitfield Hill nearly two weeks ago between a car and a motorcycle.
Deputy Coroner Teresa Ashlcy was told they had each died of multiple severe injuries. All had been certified dead at the scene of the crash.
Crash investigators are trying to establish the cause of the accident. Specimens taken from the bodies of all three are being analysed.
Coroner's officer Grahame Perrin said the accident happened at about 9pm on Friday, April 7.
Paul Doel, 17, of Wigmore Lane, Eythorne, was believed to have been the driver or a Rover 214 car, which he had bought four weeks before his death.
"The car was travelling down Whitfield Hill when, it is thought, he had carried out or completed an overtaking manoeuvre," said Mr Perrin.
"For reasons which arc unclear, he lost control, moved across on to the up carriageway, and hit a motorcycle." His body was identified at the scene by his father. Peter Doel.
Paul, who worked as a part-time packer was said to have enjoyed excellent health.
The front seat passenger was believed to be Daniel Norris, 17, of Green Lane, Eythorn, who was a student of motor vehicle engineering.
His body was identified at the scene by a friend, PC Michael Andrews.
The motorcyclist, Nick Taylor, 37, of Farthingloe Road, Dover, was a self-employed tattoo artist, Married, with two young children, he also enjoyed excellent health and was a motorcycle enthusiast.
Mr Perrin said Mr Taylor was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle up Whitfield Hill when the accident happened. His body was identified later by a friend. Mr M. White, of High Wycombe.
Pathologist Dr Charles Lawson had given the cause of death in each case as multiple severe injuries.
The inquests were adjourned until May 9.
Young survivor is 'improving.'
THE teenage boy who survived the crash which killed three people on Whitfield Hill nearly two weeks ago is said to be improving slowly in hospital.
Nathan Pearson, 16, from Eythorne, suffered serious head and leg injuries in the crash on Friday, April 7. Nathan, who is a pupil at Archers Court School, will have to undergo more operations.
He was a passenger in a car which crashed head-on with a motorcycle.
The car driver, Paul Doel, another passenger Daniel Norris and the motorcyclist Nick Taylor all died. Paul and Daniel were both 17 and also lived in Eythorne.
Mr Taylor, 37, a popular Dover tattooist, lived at Farthingloe Road, Dover.
Hundreds of flowers still line the roadside at the spot where the accident happened and candles are lit there each evening.
