New head sought for school

DOVER Boys' Grammar School is advertising for a new head teacher.

Advertisements are, being placed in the national, education press this week for a candidate to take over the running of the school in September.

Julia Bell, head teacher of the Girls' Grammar School for five years, was appointed to also become head teacher of the boys' school last September, originally, this was to have been for a two-year period.

The move followed the retirement of Neil Slater as head teacher of the Boys' school.

The governing bodies of both schools agreed a joint headship would strengthen the schools, building on the co-operation that existed between them.

Now the boys' school governors have decided to advertise for a new head teacher.

Mrs Bell is expected to continue her connection with the school and support whoever is appointed to the post.
