CAREERS PROSPECTS
A RECRUITMENT fair proved to be in shipshape condition last week - attracting more than 700 visitors.
The event - arranged by Viking Recruitment Ltd and Sea Vision careers group - aimed to raise awareness of jobs in the maritime sector.
Employers such as Saga shipping, the coastguard agency and the merchant navy were on hand to provide information at the fair - held at the boys' grammar last Thursday - and to advise attendees on how to get started in the trade.
It is now hoped that the event will become an annual one - with a Viking Recruitment spokesman confirming that 'plans' are already underway for 2005.
