Hook at the bar

LIBERAL Democrat parliamentary spokesman Antony Hook is celebrating after being sworn in as a barrister following five years of study and training.

Deal resident Mr Hook, 24 - a I former pupil of Dover boys' grammar - studied at University College London and for the last six months has been assisting with a wide range of criminal and civil law cases.

He was sworn in by Lord Justice Schiemann at a ceremony in the legal profession's ancient home the Inner Temple in London and will tackle his first trial tomorrow.
