The Dover Grammar School for Boys' choir sang Evensong at the Holy Trinity Church in Folkestone |
THE Dover Grammar School for Boys’ choir took part in Evensong at the Holy Trinity Church in Folkestone on Saturday.
The boys performed two pieces of their own choosing as well as the traditional psalms and canticles associated with the Evensong service.
Many of the visitors at the Holy Trinity described the performance as “rousing, uplifting, and professional”.
The 30-strong choir is the first from the district to be asked to perform in Folkestone. They have also been asked to perform at the Evensong service at St Alban’s Cathedral today (Thursday), and will be the only choir from Dover there.
Both performances have been organised by the school’s director of music, Charles Spanner, who is hoping they will the first of many.
