NO DINNER FOR OLD BOYS

THERE was bitter disappointment for more than 40 Dover men planning to return to their home town on Saturday when their reunion dinner was unexpectedly cancelled.

They were old boys of Dover Grammar School who had paid to attend the annual dinner, at their old school, organised by the Old Pharosians' Association.

But, just four days before the event, the caterer who was booked 12 months previously explained his team could not make it because of a health problem. and attempts to find a replacement caterer failed.

It left the organiser of the dinner with the task of phoning all over the country, and writing letters, to try to stop the guests and their families from travelling to Dover. More than 70 had booked for the dinner.
