A FIRM founded by students at Dover Grammar School for Boys has come out on top at a public speaking event.

Young Enterprise company Unico Empresa, run by a mixed group of six A-level students, took part in the YE Dover district competition last month.

The eight firms in the contest each had to select one question from a possible three and give their answer to a panel of judges from the Dover Young Enterprise Board.

Unico’s operations director Emily Hunnisett, 17, chose the topic: How could businesses, schools and towns in Kent maximise the opportunities the 2012 Olympic Games present and what consequences should they be wary of? She drew a link between the games and the firm’s bid to promote healthy living to primary school children.

Emily’s victory won her a place representing Dover at the final of the Young Enterprise Kent Public Speaking competition at the University of Kent on Tuesday.
