CHRIS CHATTAWAY, of Green Lane in Temple Ewell, passed 12 exams, including five at A*.

The 16-year-old said: “I’m pretty pleased with the results, and there are some which I did not expect to get, like an A* in business studies.

I was nervous before getting the results this morning, but I’m pleased with how I did.”

DAN COLEMAN, of Noah’s Ark Road in Tower Hamlets, was celebrating passing 11 exams, including three at A* and five at grade A.

The 16-year-old, who has ambitions to be an airline pilot when he finishes school, said: “I’m absolutely ecstatic, I was a bit apprehensive before getting the results and I was expecting to get a couple of A grades but now I have seen them I’m overjoyed.”
