Councillor awaits fate
DISGRACED district councillor Bob Frost may have to wait several more weeks to hear the decision over his fate by the Conservative Party.
District party leader Paul Watkins says the Tories will “not be rushed” in deciding whether to give Mr Frost the boot following a racist comment he made on his Facebook page last month.
Mr Frost, who was elected to the district council in May to represent North Deal for the Conservative Party, wrote the insult, which alluded to the riots in London and included a derogatory term for ethnic minorities - “jungle bunnies” - on August 7, less than 24 hours after trouble flared in Tottenham. An “explanation” was posted three days later but taken down the same night.
Mr Frost was then suspended from the Conservative group pending an investigation. But a decision by district Tories could still be weeks away.
Cllr Watkins said: “The group will make the decision and it will
be discussed at the group meeting on September 26.”
