Advertising campaign to promote a Kerbside Recycling Collection Scheme.
Dover Grammar School for Boys Art Dept. alone, have been asked to do the following "live" project, due to be launched 2002
Recycling Scheme details:
The Council are looking to introduce a fortnightly service (same day as household waste collection) for
the collection of recyclable materials (glass, paper, food and drink cans). Residents will be provided
with a large plastic box (made from 100% recycled plastic and given free of charge to the household),
in which the materials can be stored for collection. A separate vehicle to the refuse collection service
will be used to collect the recyclables.
Aim:
To develop promotional material for a kerbside collection scheme for recycling within the Dover
District, incorporating the existing ‘Rethink Waste’ and Dover District Council logos. This would
include posters, stickers, vehicle livery etc. all following a common style.
Target Audience:
The recycling scheme is to be offered to all Dover district residents, however a key focus of this
promotional campaign is to be aimed at the 21 - 40 year age group. The design style must therefore
take account of this.
Design requirements:
• The Dover District Council logo must appear top centre of the front of the design, with a white
box behind and the ‘Re-think Waste’ logo, must be tied into the design
• The design must be in full colour.
• You need to ensure that the design communicates the recycling message clearly, with an
appropriate slogan.
• You can choose to design one or all of the following:
1. Poster A4 or A3
2. Promotional car sticker 1/3 A4 (99mm high by 210 mm wide)
3. Collection box - printable area 300mm wide by 250mm high
4. Vehicle livery - design does not need to be real size, but should be proportionate to true
size (2m wide by 1.5m high)
• Any medium can be used to create your design - illustration in paints or
pencil / computer
graphics (not clip art) / photography / montage / collage etc.
