HOMEWORK 3
JUNIOR HACKSAW DESIGN LAYOUT
From your initial 4 different handle designs you are to choose one and by now you should already have started to build the three dimensional model from card. From this design you are to produce a drawing showing the layout of all the component parts for the Junior Hacksaw, their means of fixing them together and any bends required for the Diameter 8mm frame, to ensure that the hacksaw blade (which is 150mm between fixing points) and your preferred tensioning method will work.
You are to use A3 paper (supplied), and this paper is to have a fancy border in colour of your chosen design no greater than 20 mm.
In the bottom right hand corner you should construct a box 20mm high and as long as is necessary to print your full name in capital letters, central both horizontal and vertical, exactly 16 mm high.
The top of the page should show the TITLE “JUNIOR HACKSAW LAYOUT”, as colourful and large as you like.
In the centre of the paper, you are to draw an assembly of your entire Junior Hacksaw FULL SIZE, showing all the component parts i.e the HANDLE, FRAME, BLADE, BLADE CONNECTION DEVICE 1 (Fixing of blade to handle) BLADE TO CONNECTION DEVICE 2 (Fixing of blade to frame), TENSIONING SCREW, TENSIONING NUT.
Each piece should be numbered as indicated in the lesson instruction and a table in the bottom left hand corner of your A3 paper indicating the name of each piece, it’s preferred material and the nominal sizes of the material to be supplied prior to manufacture.
Perhaps it would enhance your design to shade each piece a different pastel shade.
