CAN YOU FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS 1?
This little exercise tests whether you are able to follow concise instructions, and understand the simple terminology that you would expect to hear in a drawing office, design studio or workshop.
You will need the following:- 1 piece of A4 paper, Sharp HB pencil, Rule graduated in mm, Compass, Coloured pencils in the following colours, Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, Orange, Brown.
1. Using the Sharp HB pencil and the rule, construct a Border around the edge of the paper EXACTLY 15mm from the edges.
2. With the paper in Landscape, construct a rectangle in the bottom right hand corner exactly 100mm long by 20mm high inside the margin. Inside this box print your initials and surname neatly in capital letters exactly central and 14mm high.
3. In the exact centre of the page, using a compass, construct a circle exactly Diameter 80mm.
4. From the top left hand corner of the constructed margin draw a straight line to connect to the bottom margin that is also a tangent to the constructed circle.
5. At the point of contact of this tangent to the circle, draw an arc inside the circle using the same setting you have for the compass, i.e. diameter 80mm.
6. Where the arc in (5) crosses the circle, construct another arc inside the circle and repeat until the circle resembles a flower. Colour each “petal” red and what remains uncoloured in the circle colour yellow.
7. From the top right hand corner of the margin, draw a square downwards and left that is exactly 80mm by 80mm.
8. From the top left of this box, draw two lines that connects diagonally to the border of this box, 25mm from the bottom right hand corner on both the vertical and horizontal lines. Colour the uppermost segment blue, the middle segment green and the last segment brown
9. With the centre of a circle the bottom left corner of the margin, construct a quarter circle inside the margin exactly radius 90mm.
10. Using the same radius setting as (9) construct another arc to cross this quadrant at exactly the same positions as it crosses the border. Colour this area Orange.
Each final design will be marked on accuracy. Each task is worth 10 marks. 100% is possible in all my homework tasks.
Anyone completing this task with a design exactly the same as mine will indicate that they know simple terminology and are able to follow instructions. Reward cards are given for submitting your homework on time. Anyone gaining 90% or more will gain a commendation and another reward card. Anyone gaining 100% will get a commendation and two reward cards. There are 16 different reward cards in this set.
