CAN YOU FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS 3?

This little exercise tests whether you are able to follow concise instructions, and understand the simple terminology that you would expect to hear in a drawing office, design studio or workshop.

You will need the following:- 1 piece of A4 paper, Sharp HB pencil, Rule graduated in mm, Compass, Coloured pencils in the following colours, Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, Orange, Brown.

1. Using the Sharp HB pencil and the rule, construct a Border around the edge of the paper EXACTLY 15mm from the edges.
2. With the paper in Landscape, construct a rectangle in the bottom right hand corner exactly 130mm long by 20mm high. Inside this box print your initials and surname neatly in capital letters exactly central and 14mm high.
3. Find the exact centre of the page by joining the diagonals. From the centre and across the diagonals, construct a parallelogram with dimensions along the top-left bottom-right diagonal 35mm above and below the centre, and the opposite diagonal 45mm below and above the centre position.
4. From the top left point of this parallelogram, construct a circle exactly diameter 50mm. Colour the outside the parallelogram green.
5. From the bottom right hand corner of the parallelogram construct a circle exactly radius 40mm. Colour the segment inside the parallelogram red.
6. From the top right hand corner of the margin, draw a rectangle left and down that is exactly 60mm by 100mm.
7. From the top right of this box, draw two lines that connects diagonally to the left hand side of this box, 30mm from the bottom right hand corner on both the vertical and horizontal lines. Colour the uppermost segment blue, the middle segment brown and the last segment orange.
8. Construct a circle exactly diameter 90mm in the bottom left hand side of the page that touches both the horizontal and vertical margins.
9. Using the same compass setting, starting from the point of tangent from the left hand margin, pan round the circle 6 times and construct an equilateral hexagon. Colour the segments between the circle and hexagon green.
10. From the top left hand corner of the margin, construct two lines. The first to be a tangent to the bottom left circle and to go as far as the bottom margin. The second to be a tangent to the underside of circle on the top left of the parallelogram and to continue till it touches the parallelogram.

Each final design will be marked on accuracy. Each task is worth 10 marks. 100% is possible in all my homework tasks.

Anyone completing this task with a design exactly the same as mine will indicate that they know simple terminology and are able to follow instructions. Therefore I will award a Commendation to your school planner for anyone gaining 90% or more.
