The course is designed to take about 12 weeks, but during those 12 weeks there will also be plenty of other demonstrations and instructions, of which will be posted on these pages as they happen.
Each week, simple design homework projects will be set, and these shouldn't take more than half an hour to complete. Although from last years experiences, the boys have wanted to take longer on each design project as they seem to get so much enjoyment from them.
Any homework set for the Thursday group, should be handed into me in the Reprographics room the following Tuesday, no later then first break, between 11.30 and 11.50, and any homework set for the Monday group should be handed in by Friday, same place, same time.
Should any pupil have any problems with anything, I am always available in the reprographic room at first break, or you can contact me via Email at
The first homework set is very simple and is titled, "CAN YOU FOLLOW SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS?" Click for details. No demonstration is given for this and I use it to ascertain each pupils knowledge of simple terminology, their neatness, reliability and ability to actually follow simple instructions. After each homework is set, I mark it ready for the following period, where I will read out the marks and go through any mistakes that may have occurred. The marks for each aspect of each homework will be detailed on the back of each design project, showing where marks have been gained and of course where they were lost. Apart from the very first design project, if any pupil wishes to redo any homework he may do so, and I will re-mark that work and award the highest mark. It is not unheard of for a pupil to gain 100%. Any pupil gaining 90% or more, will be awarded a Commendation, which should be entered in his Planner, and signed by me.
