DESIGN PROJECT B

Playing Card Reverse Design.

(VIEW LAST TERMS DESIGNS)

I am sure you have all played with a pack of cards at some time or other. Most of the time you’ll be concentrating on the face values of the cards. Today you will be asked to pay attention to the reverse of the cards.

A playing card manufacturing firm have asked for your services in designing an image/pattern/picture that they would like to use for the reverse side of playing cards that are going to be sold on behalf of various organisations.

Your task is to produce 6 different designs that may be used.

Using A3 paper, you will need a border, your name in the bottom right hand corner and the following design criteria:-

The cards used will be of standard size, so you’ll first need to research into what the standard size actually is.

In the top-middle of the A3 paper, you will need the title PLAYING CARD DESIGNS, in neat, colourful letters of your chosen style/font.

Equally distributed underneath the title you should have 6 boxes the exact size of your playing card, and in those boxes your 6 different card designs.

3 designs MUST be identical if the card is rotated through 180 degrees.

3 designs need NOT be identical if the card is rotated through 180 degrees.

Card 1 MUST be designed using ONE colour only, any theme.

Card 2 MUST be designed using TWO colours only, any theme.

Card 3 MUST be designed using STRAIGHT LINES only.

Card 4 MUST be designed using STRAIGHT LINES and CIRCLES only.

Card 5 MUST be designed from NATURE any colours.

Card 6 MUST be designed from TRANSPORT any colours.

You may design using a computer program and stick the final designs onto the A3 paper if you wish.
