DESIGN PROJECT K
Weathervane project.
A local well know building in your area has expressed the interest in a weathervane to house on their roof. You have been asked to design one that is in style with their purpose for the town. E.g. The Police Station with a Law theme.
Using A3 paper, you will need a border, your name in the bottom right hand corner and the following design criteria:-
The title of this folio is WEATHERVANE and should be in neat letters of your chosen style/font in the top-middle of the A3 paper.
Chose a building that people are familiar with in your area and ascertain what the theme for the weathervane should be.
The weathervane must have indicators pointing North, East, South and West and you are to design two of each in an attractive font as you would see them on the skyline, i.e. as silhouettes. They will eventually be made out of galvanised steel sheet, riveted to the main black mild steel forged frame. Your design should show the silhouette shape and shape of the forged frame for each point indicator.
The main theme and wind indicator, also designed as a silhouette must be of large enough surface area for the wind to turn.
Lastly, the pointer, the opposite end to the main theme wind collector must be of an interesting design and made from forged black mild steel. This design should be shown as a three dimensional design and shaded as if light is coming from a point top left.
Marking scheme.
