SIMPLE DESIGN PROJECTS
LETTERING.
Using A3 paper, you will need a FANCY border approximately 15mm from the edge of the paper in FULL COLOUR to your own design, and your full name in a box in the bottom right hand corner in capital letters. The box being 20mm high. Your name using 14mm letters.
This project is to encourage you to use fancy letters for titles in future design projects.
In the centre of the page, just under the top margin, you will need another box, also 20mm high. This will contain the title of the page, also using capital letters 14mm high. The title being, “LETTERING”.
With use of the other enclosed sheet showing you the basic drawing techniques you are to draw and colour in full colour with appropriate shading the 5 different lettering styles shown.
You are to chose two different letters from the alphabet other than A and B. One of the letters should be able to be produced using straight lines i.e. E, F, I, etc. the other letter must contain curves, i.e. B, C, D, G, etc.
Your five different lettering styles are as follows.
1. Flat design or Plan.
2. Oblique, using an angle of 45 degrees.
3. Isometric, using an angle of 30 degrees.
4. Perspective with 1 vanishing point either below or above the lettering.
5. Perspective with 2 vanishing points. One letter being above the horizon, the other below the horizon.
