Pub Signs.

A new firm have started a microbrewery in your area and have just acquired their first four pubs. They are running under the Trade name TRADITIONAL ALES and have asked you to design a common logo and four different pub names and signs running along the theme of “Tradition”.

Using A3 paper, you will need a border, your name in the bottom right hand corner and the following design criteria:-

The title of this folio is PUB CHAIN and should be in neat letters of your chosen style/font in the top-middle of the A3 paper.

You are to design a logo that the pub chain will be running under. It need not be letters or numbers, but a simple graphic that is in theme with a pub and tradition. Please draw your design in the centre of the page, no larger than 60mm by 60mm.

You are to produce four different pub signs all running along a similar theme, but all different and easily remembered. The bottom of the sign is to contain the name of the pub in lettering and somewhere on the sign is to be shown their logo. Each sign should be designed in an area 100mm by 110mm. You should also use ornate wrought iron work above the sign as a hanging device and a different wrought iron design for each design.

Marking scheme.

Border 5 marks for design, 5 marks for neatness

Name 5 marks for neatness

Title 5 marks for neatness, colour and design.

20 marks for the design, neatness and colour of their logo

10 marks for each of the pub signs.

5 marks for the design of each of the wrought iron work.
