First Day Issue Royal Mail Stamps.

You have been asked to design a new set of stamps, to be used nationally through the Post Office.

There will be the standard 5 stamps in this set and each will be of a different denomination. The Post Office have a standard issue for these types of stamps and your first task is to research what the 5 different price values are shown as.

Using A3 paper, you will need a border, your name in the bottom right hand corner and the following design criteria:-

In the top, middle of the page you are to have the title FIRST DAY ISSUE STAMP DESIGNS.

You are to chose a theme, (your choice, i.e. locomotives, birds, space, rock artists etc.) and each design must be different within your chosen theme. You must show the queens head in the top right of the stamp, the price of issue in the bottom left and the remainder must contain your chosen design.

All stamps MUST be exactly the same size and as large as possible on your paper.

Marking scheme.

Border 5 marks for design and neatness

Title 5 marks for design and neatness.

15 marks for using the correct price values. 3 for each correct one.

15 marks will also be awarded for each stamp design, taking into consideration that the queens head must be accurately drawn or produced using computer graphics.
