DESIGN PROJECT R
Body Art.
Body art is developing at a fast rate. It no longer has to be permanently applied in the form of tattoos as removable coloured inks are becoming increasingly sophisticated and can look almost identical. BUT, they can be removed. Tattoos CANNOT.
The body artist has developed a style over the years that produces highly colourful images by using firstly the black outline of the chosen design, followed by vivid and bright colours to fill out each portion of the design. Thus creating some simple yet stunning results.
Using A3 paper, you will need a fancy coloured border and your name in the bottom right hand corner. The name should be in a box 20mm high and as long as is required for your name. Your name being in capital letters, central vertically and horizontally and 14mm in height. This part of the design project should take no longer than 5 minutes to create.
Next divide the A3 paper into two identical halves, one on the left and one on the right. You may use the dividing line as part of your border design, if you wish.
For this project I would like you, firstly to copy the black outline of one of the designs that I will hand out, as accurately as you can, (this should take no longer than 5 minutes), then fill in the bright colours to produce the vivid design, (another 5 minutes). Please do this on the left hand side of your A3 paper, sticking the original design onto the paper for comparison. Label the original, "ORIGINAL" and your copy "COPY"
Now you have the technique, I would like you to design your own picture, (any subject), in the right hand side of the page, using exactly the same techniques as before. Estimated time 15 minutes to complete the black outline and colourful fill ins. There will be a number of designs available for you to view as inspiration during the lesson. Also you may view others on line on the web. (These are professional designs).
